Chocolate Lovebug Cupcakes Recipe

INGREDIENTS

Cupcakes Mini paper liners c. granulated sugar 1/2 c. all-purpose flour 3 tbsp. unsweetened dark cocoa 1 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. Kosher salt 4 large egg whites 2 tbsp. canola oil 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract 2 oz. bittersweet chocolate Royal Icing and Decorations 3 large egg whites 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 1 lb. confectioners' sugar Red gel food coloring Red, pink, and white medium nonpareils Red, pink, and white sugar hearts Sanding sugar

DIRECTIONS

  1. 1. To make the cupcakes: Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a 24-cup mini muffin pan with paper liners.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, sift together the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
  3. 3. In a medium bowl, whisk the egg whites until foamy, then whisk in the oil, and vanilla. Add the egg white mixture to the flour mixture, stirring just until moistened. Fold in the chocolate.
  4. 4. Divide the batter among the lined muffin cups and bake until a wooden pick inserted into the center comes out clean, 7 to 9 minutes. Remove from pans and let cool on wire racks. Decorate as desired.
  5. 5. To make the icing: Using an electric mixer, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar on medium- high speed until foamy, about 1 minute.
  6. 6. Reduce the speed to low and gradually add the sugar, beating until just incorporated. Increase the speed to high and beat until medium-stiff glossy peaks forms, 5 to 7 minutes.
  7. 7.Separate into bowls and tint different colors. Transfer 1/3 of each color to separate pastry bags fitted with fine tips. Use a few drops of water to thin the icing remaining in the bowls for flooding: place in separate resealable bags; snip off the corners.
  8. 8. Using the thicker icing, outline the lovebug wings on the cupcakes, then flood using the thinner icing. Decorate while the icing is still wet. For multiple colors, let each icing dry before applying another.

Fireside Picnic

Have the sofa pulled up in front of a roaring fire and some champagne on ice. For an added touch, serve strawberries to bring out the champagne's flavor, or drop pomegranate seeds into the glass to tinge the bubbly pink.
If you're the cooking type, make a home-cooked Valentine's Day meal. If not, order out from your favorite place, but be sure to ditch the containers and re-plate the meal elegantly on nice plates. For an extra special touch write a love letter that you can read by the fire, or have a book of love poetry ready.

Spa Night

When your sweetie gets home, draw a hot bath filled with rose petals. Since roses are so expensive around Valentines Day, you can ask your florist for a package of plain rose petals, short-stemmed roses, or for "seconds" -- ones that are slightly bruised since you won't be giving them in a traditional way. Have a glass of wine and some chocolates to nibble on by the side of the bathtub. Meanwhile, prepare the bedroom. Line the bed with towels fresh out of the dryer so that they're warm. Get a basin full of warm water near the bed, several washcloths, and some great spa products. Start off with an exfoliating rub, then massage in a great body moisturizer. You might also want to throw in a foot rub for extra brownie points. (Many people have creams and exfoliating rubs at home already; you don't have to spend extra money on this step.)

Romantic Night

Start by sending your sweetheart out on an errand and getting them out of the house. (If you don't live together, you're one step ahead.) Meanwhile, turn the lights out in most of the house, and replace the lights in the stairway with low wattage bulbs. If you can't easily change them, don't worry, put a lamp or candles in the stairway instead. Scatter rose petals like a trail of breadcrumbs leading from the front door, up the stairs and into the bedroom. Put on something sexy and lay out a sexy outfit for your partner. Ideally, this will be a gift of something new, but needn't be if you don't have a lot of money. Prepare some aphrodisiac foods that you can feed each other, including almonds, chocolates, dates, raspberries, strawberries and wine. (For that extra touch, a few hours before your date, dip the strawberries in melted chocolate and chill in the fridge.) Fill the bedroom with tons of candles and turn the lights out. FLOWERS

The female species loves flowers. For some reasons, it became one of the most significant symbols that make any romantic gestures effective. If you plan to use flowers to your advantage, you should start with what sort of flowers that she likes. Most of the time, choosing flowers for your woman should be specific. It is an acquired taste so make sure to get this right. If you guess your way through this, it will likely end up the wrong way. Flower bouquets are good but it is impractical and too pompous. Know that simplicity is always the best style.
Besides, if you are on a date, holding a huge bouquet of flowers will just be a hindrance to whatever you guys are up to do next. A single stem or three will do the magic. Trust me. Between the bouquet and the three stems of flowers, the effect is just the same.

JEWELRY

If you have the luxury of getting any jewelry for your partner, then here is a suggestion for you. If there is a history of her mentioning something about a certain piece of jewelry that she is eyeing, you already have the clue on what to buy for her. But if you are taking a shot in the dark, you three great choices: A bracelet, a ring, or a necklace.
With how well you know your woman, which of the three pieces will she go for? If you know the answer to that then go for it. But if you have no idea, just go for the ring. The ring is always the safest bet for this event.

CHOCOLATES

If pieces of jewelry are not in your priority list, then why not go for chocolates. While chocolates are known to be always accompanied with flowers, it does not have to be this time. Some chocolates are already designed with gorgeous packaging so you do not always have to give it with flower bouquets or anything else. But if you just want to impress, by all means, do as you please.
Did you know that chocolates are also aphrodisiacs? Yes, you read it right. So if you want a more sensual evening with your partner, this gift of yours may be of some help on the bed area.

PERFUMES

Perfume can be your next choice for Valentines Day gifts idea. If she prefers perfume, then you should go for it. Perfume is a great choice because it is something that can be worn and that will remind you both of each other when the scent comes around.
You can go for expensive ones or the less costly brands. But if you are on a tight budget, you can always go for low-priced perfumes but make sure that you are getting the right scent for her. To add value to your choice of perfume, why not personalize it with either your names or something that makes it more about you and her. DIY Branch Swing Shelves For Baby Shower Gift

Hampir semua ibu hamil sekarang ini mengadakan baby shower untuk menyambut kelahiran sang bayi. Selain sebagai ucapan syukur karena kehamilannya, baby showerjuga mejadi ajang untuk kumpul dengan orang-orang tersayang. Biasanya acara ini identik dengan dekorasi lucu, makanan lezat dan kado. Kalau kalian bosan dengan pilihan kado yang itu-itu saja, coba bikin DIY kado lucu berikut ini yuk.
 
Materials
  • 1 1/2′′ – 2′′ diameter branches
  • Hand saw
  • Electric drill with various size bits
  • Solid 5/8′′ braided rope
  • Masking tape
  • Screws
Make it!
  1. Choose branches that are fairly straight and even in diameter and cut the ends with a hand saw to the desired length. It’s best that you choose dry wood for this project, so if you collect some fresh branches, let them dry first.
  2. Using a small drill bit, drill a pilot hole through both ends of the branch, about 2′′ from the end.
  3. Using a larger drill bit, drill a larger hole through the end where you made your pilot hole. Keep making the hole larger until you have enough space for your rope to feed through.
  4. Cut the rope to the length that you want to hang the swing, then add about 14′′ to accommodate for the knots at the ends. Wrap masking tape around the end of the rope to prevent fraying and allow    you to smoothly feed the rope through the branch.
  5. Thread two lengths of rope through both sides the branch and tie the ends in knots.
  6.  To hang, insert screws through the top knots and use the drill to secure them into the wall near the ceiling or moldings. Please note that while they are screwed into the wall, they are only held by a knot in the rope. If you pull on one it will come down. If you are securing these to walls where there are young children, ensure that they will break away with a little force. I don’t intend for mine to hold anything heavy, so if a little person grasps on, they are going to release from the wall.
  1. Adjust the height and level of the swings by adjusting the bottom knots until you are happy with the look. Remove masking tape and fray the ends of the rope a little.
  2. Style branch swings by hanging stuffed toys, hats, clothes, books, magazines, or artwork. Personalizing and changing the swings will keep them fun and fresh.

Special Handmade Gift-Galaxy Color Blocked Marble Coasters

The Supplies: •4″ polished marble hexagon tilespastedGraphic.png •Alcohol inks ( I used pink sherbet, mermaid, indigo, and aqua) •Painter’s tape if you want the color blocked look •DecoColor Gold Paint PenpastedGraphic.png •Sticky backed cork contact paper •Utility knife or scissors •Latex (or nitrile) disposable gloves Steps : 1. Once you have all your supplies and your gloves are on (the alcohol inks will stain your hands for a few weeks if you don’t use them!), use the tape to tape off the part of the marble coaster that you don’t want painted and make sure the tape is very well adhered. You will also want to work on a protected surface. I covered my table with plastic wrap to protect it from getting even more paints splatters on it!  2. Next, drip on your colors in bands onto the exposed part of the coaster. Make sure not to add too much of the alcohol inks, only a few drops should do. Next tip the coaster to let the excess ink drain off onto your protected surface or onto a crumpled up paper towel. 3. Once drained you will get this swirly gradient look on your coasters. The last step is to add a few flecks of gold by shaking your paint pen over the coasters in a downward flicking motion. 4. Once you have added the flecks, gently peel off the tape and let the ink absorb into the coaster. The last step is to trace the tile on your cork contact paper and adhere the cork to the underside of the tile to create your coaster. Marble is so absorbent that you don’t have to even seal the ink on, but if you are still worried you can give the coasters a coat of spray varnish to seal them. In the coaster above you can see a line down one side. This was one where the ink bled under the tape, so I went ahead and made the whole think galaxy. So, make sure your tape is well adhered and you don’t use too much ink to prevent bleeding. Have you played with alcohol inks before? Spray paint the jar white and the lid black.  Set aside to dry completely.  Carefully take the hat apart as shown below. Use hot glue on the inside to secure the tassel into place. Once the lid is dry, use hot glue to place it onto the hat as shown below. Print the owl pattern page and cut the pieces from felt.  Start adding the pieces to the mason jar with hot glue.  The body pieces should meet in the front of the jar as shown below.  They may overlap slightly in the back depending on the jar that you use. Add the beak with hot glue as shown. Secure the google eyes to the bottle caps with hot glue then add them to your mason jar as shown. You will then need to make your graduation sign for the owl.  Download the printable label file and print it onto your labels.  Use two labels back to back on the end of a short dowel rod. Then hot glue the wings into place with the graduation sign under one of the wings as shown. Secure well with hot glue.
